In an earlier life, I worked as a reporter, editor and teacher in the US before rearranging the coordinates for a life that offers more, more and then some more, preferring the side door entrances and exits whenever possible. Work has appeared in The Kyoto Journal, East, The Irrawaddy, Wanderlust, National Geographic Traveler, The International Herald Tribune, The Bangkok Post, The Nation, Southeast Asia Globe, International Living, First Class Confidential, The Texas Observer, Texas Magazine, Texas Monthly, Texas Parks & Wildlife, The Desert Mountain Times, The Desert Candle, The Boston Globe, The National Post, The Australian and many other magazines and newspapers around the world.
I’m a fan of Saturday lunches with members of the Gang and nightfall when the world lets go and grows up a little and people and things appear more sublime and forgiving. It’s an illusion, but it still thrills the heart.
