The Star-Spangled Banner Marks 200th Anniversay

imagesBY FRANCIS SCOTT KEY O! say can you see, by the dawn’s early light, What so proudly we hail’d at the twilight’s last gleaming, Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight, O’er the ramparts we watch’d, were so gallantly streaming? And the rockets’ red glare, the bombs bursting in air, Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there — O! say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave O’er the land of the free, and the home of the brave? This is the famous first stanza of the four-stanza song/poem by Francis Scott Key.
